MANUSCRIPT CRITIQUE PROGRAM Having fresh eyes on your manuscript is useful, especially when it's from experienced fellow writers and editors. SDWEG members get the opportujity to draw on that expertise for a nominal extra fee. | MONTHLY NEWSLETTER Get caught up on the latest news of the Guild through The Guilded Newsletter, which includes upcoming events, members' recent book publications and awards, and much more. Access to the newsletter is limited to logged-in members. | ANTHOLOGY SUBMISSIONS A compilation of themed, imaginative short stories, poems, and essays written by SDWEG members has been published annually since 2012. All members are invited to submit writings for consideration. Selected members are invited to read at the launch of the anthology. |
MONTHLY MEETINGS AND PRESENTATIONS Learn valuable information about the art of writing, editing, publishing, marketing, and much more (no charge for members, nominal charge for guests). Most presentations are hosted on Zoom with occasional in-person meetings each year. |
Selling your book presents plenty of challenges and SDWEG will help you along the way, including with ouro monthly author marketing support group followed by Q&A and discussion. | WORKSHOPS The Guild offers opportunities to delve deeper with greater participation in interactive workshops from writing and editing experts. Be prepared to share your work or do some writing in the workshops. Nonmembers pay the cost of membership to take part and become a member of the Guild. |

Muffy Walker's debut novel, Memory Weavers, has garnered several recent awards: the Firebird Book Award, the Literary Titan Silver Book Award, the Hawthorne Prize, and selection as finalist for the 2025 International Impact Book Awards in the Women's Fiction category. Mary Ann Horton was awarded the 2025 Clarence E. Anderson Peace and Justice Award by #socallutherans. Recipients of the award have shown through word and deed a commitment to striving for peace and justice in church and society, especially as related to the full inclusion of sexual minorities.
