Lilly will focus on practical craft approaches to writing about trauma, including alternative forms, slanted metaphors, and utilizing different points of view. These strategies are geared towards staying vulnerable and authentic to your experience, but also creating distance when needed. As well, she will touch on strategies to maintain good mental health practices during and after the exploring, the writing, and the publishing of personal trauma. While these lessons are directly applicable to memoir and narrative essay writing, Lilly will demonstrate how they are useful when writing fiction as well.
